7:20 PM Harold Hawkins, VGHA President, called the meeting to order.
Mary Ellen Gardner volunteered to record the minutes, due to the resignation of the 2007 Secretary, Mary Whitehorn.
Beth Thomas, Vice President, read the minutes from the July 23rd meeting. There were no corrections or amendments. The minutes were approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report
The next business in order was the Treasurer's report.
Treasurer, Tricia Stanton, read the report.
- As of October 15, 2007 the current balance was $1,522.55.
- Out of 58 homes 23 homes have paid 2007 dues, 35 homes have not.
- The Association has received $204.00 in donations YTD.
A question was asked as to why the utilities amounts were different for the first and second quarter. Tricia commented that she paid in advance to save postage.
There were no corrections or amendments. The Treasurer’s report was approved as read.
Dues were collected from three members at the meeting, updating the active members to 26 homes.

Neighborhood Watch Committee:
Chairman Dick Wilkins - reported
· There has been no new vandalism reported
· The court case is still not completed for the theft at the Stanton’s home.
Welcome Committee
Chairman Cathy Hawkins was not in attendance.
Janet Dygert reported that she personally delivered the newsletter to both new neighbors and Amy Trebirio said that her husband John would not be able to make it to the meeting but she would be there. Igor Ljubonjic also said that he was interested in joining the association and he would try to make it to the meeting. Unfortunately, neither were in attendance.
Social Committee
Chairman Tricia Stanton – reported. Surveys are being done to find out the individual interests so that social events can be scheduled for 2008. Comments about Liability Insurance for the Association were discussed because of non-member comments made at the January Association meeting. President Harold Hawkins stated that we do have liability insurance for Association sponsored events and we should proceed with scheduling events.
Beautification Committee
Chairman, Beth Thomas - no report.
Old Business:
No old Business was discussed.
New Business:
Our Association as joined with the Largo Neighborhood Partnership Program to work with other Associations to help develop leadership and increase participation.
2007-2008 Board of Directors Election Results
Beth Thomas unanimously elected as President
Harold Hawkins unanimously elected as Vice President
Tricia Stanton unanimously elected as Treasurer
Janet Dygert unanimously elected as board member.
Secretary position remains open.
The Venetian Gardens Homeowner’s Association next meeting is scheduled for
Monday, January 21, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
Tricia Stanton volunteered to hold the next meeting.
